Here are some misc pics of the flex connectors. So instead of going through detailed wordy explanations, here are several views of the connectors: Flexcable (upper right), TWO surface-mount flex connectors soldered together end to end and epoxied for strength (upper left) and the CMOS sensor. A 32 and 36 pin flex connector. I tried a 32 pin, but ended up using exclusively 36 pin connectors. Notice how the edge of one of the ribbons is clipped. This is what needs to happen to a 36 pin cable to fit into the 32 pin socket inside the camera. A closer view. The epoxy is between the connectors. It makes them extremely durable, but until then they are horrendously fragile.
